Proposed Amendments to the Paralegal Rules of Conduct
The Paralegal Standing Committee is considering amendments to the Paralegal Rules of Conduct on a number of issues. Learn more on the Paralegal Rule Amendments page. 

Proposed Amendments to the Rules of Professional Conduct
The Professional Regulation Committee is seeking input from the profession on a number of proposed amendments to the Rules of Professional Conduct, described in more detail on the Call for Input page.

Alternative Business Structures
On February 27, 2014, Convocation approved the launch of a consultation on alternative business structures (ABS), becoming one of the first North American regulators to undertake such an initiative.

Proposed Changes to the Election of Regional Benchers
As part of its review of issues related to the bencher election, Convocation’s Bencher Election Working Group has reviewed and is proposing changes to the process for electing Regional Benchers. 

   Proposed Amendments to the Rules of Professional Conduct
The Law Society is considering amendments to the Rules of Professional Conduct as a result of the implementation of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada Model Code of Professional Conduct.

Articling Task Force / Pathways
The Law Society's Articling Task Force was formed to address concerns about the articling program, relating in particular to the growing number of unplaced licensing candidates.On November 22, 2012, Convocation approved the Pathways pilot project that will allow lawyer licensing candidates to either article or complete a Law Practice Program (LPP), starting in the 2014-15 licensing year.

 Five Year Review of Paralegal Regulation
The Law Society conducted a consultation to review the manner in which licensed paralegals have been regulated, and the effect that regulation has had on licensed paralegals and on the public who have used paralegal services. The report is now available.
