Dec 19, 2013   Changes to the Parental Leave Assistance Program 
On November 22, 2012, Convocation approved an extension of the Parental Leave Assistance Program (PLAP) and the adoption of a means test by which an applicant must have a net annual practice income of less than $50,000 to be eligible for the program. The means test is effective as of January 1, 2014.

The Law Society of Upper Canada today announced the names of the providers of its Law Practice Program (LPP) that will provide aspiring lawyers with a new, additional  pathway to the Ontario Bar, in addition to an enhanced Articling Program.

Ryerson University will provide the Law Society’s LPP in English, while the University of Ottawa will provide the French LPP. Now, lawyer Licensing Process candidates may choose to either article or complete the LPP.
